what is anemia?
« on: April 26, 2023, 11:31:55 AM »
Anemia is a medical condition characterized by a deficiency of red blood cells or hemoglobin in the blood. Hemoglobin is a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues. When the body does not have enough red blood cells or hemoglobin, it cannot get enough oxygen, which can lead to fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, and other symptoms. Anemia can be caused by a variety of factors, including iron deficiency, vitamin B12 deficiency, chronic disease, genetic disorders, and certain medications. Treatment for anemia depends on the underlying cause but may include dietary changes, supplements, medications, and other medical interventions.
