Today is World Diabetes Day.
Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs either when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces.

COVID-19 causes fear and suffering for people with diabetes:
1. They have an increased risk of severe disease and death when infected with COVID-19
2. Delay in diagnosis may result in more advanced disease and complications
3. Delayed, incomplete, interrupted treatment
