What is Gastric Irritation?
« on: April 30, 2023, 12:31:33 PM »

Gastric irritation refers to a condition in which the lining of the stomach becomes inflamed or irritated, leading to discomfort or pain.

Causes: Gastric irritation can be caused by a number of factors, including:

Diet: Certain foods or drinks, such as spicy or acidic foods, caffeine, and alcohol, can irritate the stomach lining and lead to inflammation.

Medications: Some medications, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and aspirin, can irritate the stomach lining and cause gastric irritation.

Infections: Infections caused by bacteria, such as Helicobacter pylori, or viruses, can irritate the stomach lining and cause inflammation.

Stress: Stress can also contribute to gastric irritation by increasing the production of stomach acid and causing changes in the digestive system.

Symptoms: Symptoms of gastric irritation can include abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, indigestion, and loss of appetite.

Treatment: Primary Treatment for gastric irritation may include dietary changes, such as avoiding trigger foods and drinks, and taking medication to reduce stomach acid or treat the underlying cause of the irritation. In severe cases, hospitalization may be necessary to manage complications such as bleeding or perforation of the stomach lining. It is important to seek medical attention if symptoms persist or worsen.
