Okay, I'll reveal my favorite diet for seniors, but only if you promise not to take this as advice, professional or otherwise. I am a clinical psychologist with no background in diet. It's just what I've been doing with food for almost 79 years.
I eat at 14:00 and 18:00. 14.00 is a large salad of fresh raw vegetables, grilled chicken breast without skin or other protein (meat or eggs). I topped it off with a cup of my homemade yogurt sauce and some nuts. (I make yogurt and bake frozen spicy chicken every three weeks.) Dessert is a piece of fresh fruit.
18.00 sandwich on hand, but with proteins, yogurt and more fruit. At 20.00 we gather for a soft cocktail and reflect on the day.
My doctor likes this diet because he pushes calcium (bones etc) and fiber (guts) and supports alcohol (social spirituality). A few times a week we have social stews, sometimes determined by whoever is making them, and I like to eat some of it all.
The same when we started going to restaurants again.
What to eat.
This one works for me, my labs, scales, etc.

It may all be wrong for those of you who know, but it's important to get advice and learn what's healthy and fun. To you. (If I had to include seafood, mine wouldn't be fun - I don't like it, no matter how much omega it has).
PS: A big part of my Old Man plan is a daily brisk 5K walk in a slightly hilly jungle park with a paved path, good friends and trying to be helpful to others, and keeping "yes" as my default answer. all invitations and inquiries.
