Two Sensations When Passing Urine That Could Signal Cancer.
« on: April 09, 2023, 08:23:45 PM »
Scientists have made progress in improving the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and increasing public awareness of the warning signs is essential to this progress. Several types of cancer can cause changes in urine color or consistency. Sensation during urination is also often affected.

The presence of blood in the urine, called hematuria, is the most common symptom of bladder cancer. According to Cancer Research UK, "around 80 out of 100 people with bladder cancer have some blood in their urine".

Many people report changes in the frequency or urgency of urination. Patients rarely complain of pain and burning during urination, but these symptoms are most likely caused by other conditions.

For example, symptoms such as smelly urine indicate that the cause is bacteria, not cancer. According to Cancer Research UK, a bacterial urinary tract infection is often the main cause of burning when urinating.

However, these symptoms can also be caused by the growth of cancer cells in the lining of the bladder. Urination can stimulate cells to clump together to form bladder tumors.

Burning when you urinate is a less common symptom of bladder cancer, so it's important to look out for other signs, according to the NHS. Patients also report:

Urinate regularly.
Frequent urge to urinate at night. I feel the need to urinate but I can't.
One side of the body experiences lower back pain. However, if you experience burning or pain, contact your doctor immediately as this could be a sign of a more serious condition.
